A key event in the London calendar is the Oxford and Cambridge boat race.

Come to the banks of the Thames between Mortlake and Putney to cheer on the rowers from the two universities. 250,000 people watch the event live and celebrate the victory of the winners over this 4.2 mile course. You can watch the teams pass by from either bank but favourite places to soak up the atmosphere are Putney Bridge, Craven Cottage, Hammersmith and Dukes Meadow.
